I am really excited to have been asked to be a contributor to theFrenchPaper, the new English-language newspaper which was launched here last week. Available in bookstores, newsstands and airports all over France, theFrenchPaper is “designed to meet the needs of the hundreds of thousands of English speakers living in, moving to or visiting France, and will provide everything they need to feel a part of France.” Each monthly issue of theFrenchPaper will be packed full of information, insight and inspiration, including inspiring stories about people and places, practical help and advice on healthcare, finance and setting up a business, great features on food, wine, travel, property, gardening and country living and more.
I share a column called “Town and Country” with Frances Penwill-Cook. Frances and her husband left a busy life in London for a small (pop. 200) village in South-West France. Each month we’ll share our very different experiences of living and working in France.
I can’t tell you how happy I am about this paper- and it’s not just because I’m in it! I hadn’t realized how starved I was for the format. One of my favorite “treats” when I go home to Chicago every year is to loll around on the couch with the Sunday paper. It’s a real moment of calm for our family- everyone lying around, thumbing through their favorite sections. With their full-color layout and 3 sections (including a dedicated kids section) there’s just something really comfortable and familiar about theFrenchPaper.
Be sure to pick up your copy of theFrenchPaper, and while you’re at it, sign up for their newsletter at www.thefrenchpaper.com.

Congratulations on the column!!
Congratulations! Your blog is one I always read because it’s not only informative but interesting. I love the window into French culture you provide. Best wishes to you in this new venture.
