The Swarovski Paris Bridal Event

Unbridaled Swarovski Crystal Wedding DressesOK, yesterday I had one of those experiences where I thought, “OMG, I actually live in Paris”. I went to a show at l’Hotel de la Monnaie called “Unbridaled- The Marriage of Tradition and Avant-Garde“. Get this: to promote “Crystallized”, their new product brand for all of their loose crystal elements, Swarovski invited over 100 designers from all over the world toUnbridaled Swarovski Crystal Wedding Dresses create one-of-a-kind bridal gowns and accessories using their crystals. John Galliano, Vera Wang, Lolita Lempicka, Fendi, Pucci, Armani, Westwood and many, many others took them up on their offer and created the most amazing wedding gown collection ever assembled. Ever! From the Crystallized website: The dazzling fruits of this major collaboration with world-class creative talents combine to provide an all-encompassing interpretation of modern marriage – a glamorous tableau in which every girl’s romantic fantasy becomes extravagant and gorgeous reality. And the result was magical! All I could think of was my friend Terrica Unbridaled Swarovski Crystal Wedding Dressesover at Fabu-luxe Events- I honestly don’t think she would have made it out of there without fainting. It was like I had stumbled into Salvador Dali’s wedding banquet (after having first sipped a cocktail laced with acid and ecstasy). My favorite room was what I call the “Diva of the Woodland Fairies” exhibit. The room had been transformed into some sort of grotto with stark white trees encircling a queen-sized bed made entirely out of moss, and these orbs of glowing crystals dripping down from the ceiling (I know, right??). Languishing on top of the bed was a mannequin with this beautiful flow-y bejeweled gown. In front of the bedUnbridaled Swarovski Crystal Wedding Dresses was a glass dome covering the most incredibly sparkly couture shoes ever. Oh, and there was some sort of lady-in-waiting sporting a fur coat which had been “crystallized” as well. Yup. A crystallized fur coat- that was this show!

The show was only open to the public for two days (?!?), this past Friday and Saturday, but I heard that there are plans for it to travel to New York before heading to Japan. If you’re wanting to figure out ways to put a little more bling into your wedding day, they’ve also put together a beautiful coffee table book of the show, with excerpts available on the Swarovski website at www.crystallized.com
