Well, another year has come and gone. I don’t know about you, but last year flew by in a blur for me. It wasn’t until I sat down to post this (New Years’ resolution numéro un, btw) that I realized how chock full o’ awesomeness 2010 really was. It started at the end of winter when I had the chance to work with Robert & Kathleen Trenske, et. al. on their Taking Off - Paris seminar photo shoot. Besides getting to meet and work with some great US-based vendors- I was really excited to show them how we Paris wedding vendors roll! Here’s one of my favorite shots of the day, with more details of the day here on Style Me Pretty.

In the Spring, wedding season got off to a bumpy start when good ole Eyjafjallajokull (the infamous Icelandic volcano) decided to blow her top and brought air traffic in Europe to a grinding halt. In spite of a few delays, all brides, grooms (and dresses!) made it in and out of Paris unscathed. The rest of the spring and summer were filled with beautiful brides, gorgeous weather and LOTS of partying in Paris. I was also so proud at the end of the summer when this blog was voted Best International Wedding Blog by Aisledash.com

Back-to-school season is called La rentrée in France, and no rentrée in Paris would be complete without some sort of strike. This past fall was no different, with air AND ground transportation en grève, but we still managed to work around it – and had clients from as far as Australia and Indonesia who managed to make it in for their Parisian celebrations.

My personal highlight of 2010, though, came at the end of the year- parisian events was hired to assist the Toni Morrison Society’s Bi-Annual Conference here in Paris, where Ms. Morrison was awarded the French Legion of honor. She’s been one of my idols since I was a pre-teen, and having the opportunity to organize the 40th Anniversary Party for The Bluest Eye was just surreal. It was such an honor to have met her and to have been selected to take part in this event.

So, that was 2010 in a nutshell. Like I said, my first New Years’ Resolution was to get back up on the blogging horse. Already 2011 is looking pretty promising (teaser…teaser…) and I’m looking forward to sharing it all with you. Thanks for sticking around, and Vive la nouvelle année!
