As a bride-to-be ever since my fiance proposed to me with a gorgeous diamond engagement ring. it would be like a fairy tale to have a Parisian wedding in the summer time and instead of in the church we would just have it outdoors. So many French couples who are completely non-practicing Catholics, use the church wedding as a photo op, that I think the French clergy have a tendency to immediately accuse you of the same thing. We found that the parish that we belonged to here in Paris took the marriage preparation classes very seriously and I think that by showing them the effort that you have already put into the religious preparation of your wedding, you will gain some Brownie points that might sway the matter.
