french country inspired wedding design

Take a look at this beautiful French Country-inspired wedding design from Dallas-based photographer Catie Ranquillo in the current issue of Nonpareil magazine. A card-carrying Francophile, Catie tapped into her two biggest passions- France and sweets (!!)-  for her inspiration for this “South of France meets the South” shoot.

She and her Dallas-based entourage, including Erin of Red Sole Events (flower arrangements), Nicole of the Left Handed Calligrapher, Enjolik of Low Country Quisine (yummy Southern treats) and Jessica Goldfarb and Lucy Williams of The Gallery Events (additional styling) put together a lavender and rustic tablescape that will make you swoon- the perfect mix of sophisticated French champêtre and whimsical Southern charm.

One of the many things that I love about Nonpareil are the simple yet stylish DIY tips and downloads included in every issue. This months issue includes templates for the menu and placecards used in this shoot, as well as instructions on making the cute lavender and craft-paper favor boxes. Be sure to check out www.catieronquillo.com for even more images of this scrumptious photo shoot.

stylishly chic wedding rings from paris

cartier trinity sauvage

cartier trinity sauvage

In honor of the public opening this summer of  Jean Cocteau’s country home in Milly-La-Forêt (30 miles south of Paris), luxury jewelery house Cartier has unveiled 2 new designs of their Trinity ring:  the Trinity La Belle and the Trinity Sauvage, created in celebration of France’s most beloved l’enfant terrible. The Trinity La Belle features six intertwined bands (Cocteau liked to wear two of the original Trinity rings stacked together on his pinky), with one band displaying Cocteau’s signature star stamp. The Trinity Sauvage features one leopard printed band (Cocteau’s walls sport a leopard and panther motif), one studded with diamonds, and one engraved with the Cartier insignia.

What better way to pay homage to Jean Cocteau’s penchant for the decadent than by taking a decadent little shopping trip to Paris to buy your wedding rings? Once here, it’s only fitting that you make a B-line to Cartier on Place Vendôme to test run a Trinity or two for yourself. While on the Place, pop into Bulgari, Boucheron and Van Cleef & Arpel- as well as Chanel, Dior, Mauboussin and Fred. And don’t be afraid to wander off the beaten path- around the corner and straight into Tiffany’s or Montblanc, that is!  .
