Here’s a way to add a bit of Parisian spice to your next cocktail party or get-together: “Le G” is a hyper-chic cocktail creation fromBound at 49 avenue George V in Paris. Bound is a member of the George V Restauration group (the geniuses behind the Buddha Bar empire) and is known for it’s chic “glam-rock” design, fashionable crowd, and hipster sushi bar.
Recreate Bounds’ BCBG Parisian atmosphere chez toi by covering your home in small red votive candles, passing around plates of home-made sushi, cranking up the Made in Bound soundtrack (you knew there had to be one) and serving up these spicy concoctions:
Le G 2 cl crème de cassis
4 cl vodka
1 cl apple juice
1 slice fresh ginger
Crush the slice of ginger into a cocktail shaker. Add the crème de cassis and vodka. Stir in the apple juice and shake with tons of ice. Serve immediately in your cutest martini glasses. Enjoy!
In case you haven’t already guessed, one of the perks of living in Paris is the unlimited access to French pastries. Until you’ve experienced it, though, it’s just not possible to imagine how incredible the sweets are here. Macaron from Ladurée, a rose and raspberry tarte from Pierre Hermé, Opéra from Dalloyau- never mind the hundreds of “unknown” neighborhood patisseries peppered throughout the city. I spent my first few months years here literally eating my way from arrondissement to arrondissement. I have to say, though, that even though I adore the refined complexities of a delicious millefeuille just as much as the next girl, sometimes I get a hankering for an old-fashioned American cupcake. You know what I mean- a big, sweet, insanely decorated, in-yo’-face cupcake, preferably wolfed down with a cold glass of milk. I used to have to curb these cravings until I was back in the U.S., but slowly but surely, cupcake joints are popping up around Paris:

If you’re planning a trip to Paris, and are tossing around the idea of an impromptu wedding or vow-renewal ceremony while you’re here- I’ve got a great resource for you: Graine de Coton is a sweet little boutique in the 15th arrondissement where you can buy or rent a wedding dress at a fraction of its’ retail price. The shop also rents gently-owned bridesmaids, flower girl and ring bearer outfits and accessories. And for the last-minute “Bride’s best friend”, witness or guest: the shop carries a nice selection of evening and party dresses, too. Keep in mind that besides being affordable and practical, a pre-owned wedding dress is a great eco-friendly option for a Green Wedding in Paris.
