A True Honeymoon in Paris

Honeymoon in ParisIf you’re looking for the perfect hotel to spend your HONEYmoon in Paris, look no further than LUNEUR at the Parc de la Villette. From now until the end of September, you can share your newlywed love-nest with over 100,000 live bees! Created by artist Olivier Darné, Luneur is a two-room living space built around an open-air patio with an 8 foot chimney in the middle. The chimney actually houses over 50,000 bees! A peephole in the fireplace allows you to look inside of the hive and watch the bees at work.

Moving into the second room, the lounge/bedroom, you’ll find a glass night-table which actually houses the second hive. Worker bees only live about 45 days, and spend a mere 5% of that time sleeping. What that means is that guests of Luneur are lulled by the hum of the bees all through the night. The construction of the room lets you see, smell, hear, touch, and sleep against the hive- all without a chance of the bees getting out. In the morning, guests are treated to a breakfast of miel béton - a local honey which comes from hives built on Paris rooftops (another project by Luneur’s creator, Olivier Darné).

A night in Luneur is only 60€ for one or 2 people, breakfast included, but available dates are filling up. Phone 01 40 03 75 75 to book a space, and be sure to drop me a line and let me know how your HONEYmoon in Paris went!

Paris Wedding Photography: The Groom Session

I wanted to post a few photos taken by a French wedding photographer a couple of months ago. The couple were able to hire a second photographer to shoot the groom and his groomsmen getting ready before they headed over to the château. So much of a wedding is about the bride- including the preparation photos. Who hasn’t seen the “hanging, back-lit wedding dress” shot, or the “fabulous, blinged-out Manolo’s” shot, or the “bride being helped into her dress” shot? But how often do you see the groom and his boyz getting all gussied up before their trip down the aisle? Here are a couple of images that celebrate the boys we love, and to remind us that without them, there wouldn’t even be a wedding !
