A Vow Renewal in Paris

stmichel9.gifThis past Friday was the 10th Anniversary of Scott’s marriage proposal to Cara, so he decided to surprise her with a vow renewal ceremony while they were here in Paris on vacation. Initially, the ceremony was supposed to have taken place beneath the Eiffel Tower, but, as you may know, we had to change that plan (grr…) so we moved the celebration inside to a private salon in the Latin Quarter. I’m glad we did, actually, because last Friday was one of the rainiest, dreariest days that we’ve had in ages.stmichel1.gif

Scott had told Cara that, as part of their vacation package, they had been invited to a private recital. You should have seen her face when she walked in and saw the wedding cake and officiant, with Scott standing behind her with a bouquet! After a cozy, sweet ceremony, they had cake and champagne, and then went for a drive around Paris with their photographer in tow. Luckily, the rain stopped long enough for them to get out and pose for some romantic snaps in front of their favorite spots. Next, they’re off to Italy for a second honeymoon… I wonder if Scott has any surprises planned for that part of their trip? Happy Anniversary, you two!!

Un Mariage en Chocolat (A Chocolate Wedding)

The 13th Annual Paris Salon de Chocolat is coming up, so I’ve put together a little ditty that I like to call Un Mariage en Chocolat. Enjoy…

The Dress -The highlight of the Paris Salon is the chocolate fashion show. These wedding dresses are actually made with chocolate- either painted on, or woven into the material.

The Bouquet: The biggest accessory of the day (after the ring, of course) is…the wedding bouquet! This bouquet, by D’Lys couleurs is, unfortunately, in silk- but made with a mix of dark and milk chocolate and colorful pâte de fruits woven into the stems.

What Do You Get For the Girl Who’s Got Everything?

Eating “Meat that goes with Beer” in PragueI have no idea. But I can tell you what really would impress ME for MY birthday- A weekend in Prague.

Oh wait a minute- I ALREADY GOT THAT!! That’s right, mon homme gave me a mega-birthday surprise last week and took me to Prague, or Praha, as we like to call it- for the week-end. It’s a city that I have been wanting to visit since forever, and it was everything that I dreamed it would be- and more! There is so much beauty, so much history…Plus, the shopping is great, their beer is super-sized, AND they like a good gravy. Oh, and did I mention that it’s 100% acceptable to eat chicken wings for breakfast there? My kinda town….
